Description

May 5, 2022, marks the 160th anniversary of the historic Battle of Puebla of 1862 when a small Mexican army defended its sovereignty against a large French army during the French-Mexican war (1861-1867). To highlight the day's historical significance, the Federación de Puebla and their community partners are hosting a festival where a reenactment of the battle will be the focal point. A parade will make its way through the park, uplifting poblanos and their contributions to Las Vegas, complementing the Mexican artisans, business owners/entrepreneurs, food vendors and local performers in attendance. Per the Federación’s goal to bridge gaps in access to community resources, the festival will include a health and resource fair to ensure community members gain access to direct service providers and other programs available throughout the Las Vegas valley.
